PIONEERS RUN CREW
Boston's first Black-Led Running Community
Founded in 2017, PIONEERS Run Crew is Boston’s first Black and Brown-led running community. Our mission is to make running equitable and accessible to the BIPOC community in Boston. Our goal is to ensure EVERY RUNNER in PIONEERS Run Crew feels heard and seen.
Our Why
Explore. Motivate. Inspire.

EXPLORE
We build community connectedness. Rather than focusing on pace and speed, we create a social setting that encourages relationship-building during our weekly runs.

Motivate
We run in Boston’'s historically Black neighborhoods to encourage exploration of the City’s rich history and normalize running in our communities.

INSPIRE
We root for runners on the margin - all faces, all paces. We believe running can help overcome physical and mental health disparities and promote holistic wellness.
SIGNATURE EVENTS
PIONEERS Run Crew’s signature events go beyond the ordinary run—each one is a unique and inclusive gathering designed to unite runners of all abilities and backgrounds. From energetic pre-run meetups to lively post-run celebrations, these events create an atmosphere that welcomes first-timers and seasoned racers alike. Every detail, from thoughtfully planned routes to community-focused programming, underscores our commitment to exploration, motivation, and inspiration, making PIONEERS Run Crew’s signature events an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

About our Founder
Sidney Baptista was Born and raised in Dorchester, MA. After leaving a career at a Big Four accounting firm, Baptista founded PIONEERS Run Crew in Boston to create a space where running felt accessible and community-driven. In 2020, he launched PYNRS with the mission to merge running and streetwear lifestyle, building a brand that reflects the energy of the culture and the movement of running communities like PIONEERS Run Crew.
Today, PYNRS extends beyond apparel into media, experiences, and the PYNRS Network—a platform designed to reimagine ownership and distribute culture in new ways. Baptista’s vision is to flip the script on a traditional apparel company and prove that communities can have shared ownership in the culture and influence they help create.
Born and Raised in BOSTON, MA
Our products are named after the streets that we grew up on and still run today.
